Resilient Foundation is a non-profit facilitating the funding and production of visionary storytelling that drives collective action towards a resilient world

Our mission is to bring about targeted, measurable and scalable change towards a just and resilient world using film, narrative storytelling and arts activism as transformational tools.

Board of trustees

Resilient is guided by an international, highly experienced and passionate Board of Trustees who oversee the organisation's strategy, governance and fundraising.

tom tapper

  • Tom is the Co-Founder and CEO of Nice and Serious, a B-Corp certified agency that makes creative work the world needs. Since 2008, he's worked with hundreds of international charities and brands to creatively communicate the positive environmental and social impact they're having on the world. Tom has a background in environmental science and science communication. 

allard stapel

  • Allard Stapel is Chief of External Affairs at WWF-NL, responsible for management of relations with its larger partners like WW Russia, Brazil, China and Indonesia. Allard is also involved with the Amsterdam Artis Zoo for the set up of a new museum and is a member of the jury of the annual Jan Wolkers prize for the best nature book of the Netherlands. He is a member of various boards like the Prince Bernhard Nature Fund and the Water for Life foundation.

diana eggleston

  • Diana is Business Advisor Impact Economy & NGOs at The Hague & Partners. She leads the international program to attract purpose-driven businesses and NGOs to The Hague. She works closely with the Municipality to create a thriving ecosystem for organisations that address the global challenges, as defined by the UN SDGs. An entrepreneur with a background in corporate strategy consulting, Diana ran her own business for over a decade and serves on a number of advisory boards.

dan mcdougall

  • Dan McDougall is a film director, writer and British Foreign Correspondent of the Year, an award he has been nominated for three-times. He has reported from 126 countries and conflict zones. To date, Dan has won four Amnesty International Awards for Human Rights Reporting, covering issues as diverse as child rape in South Africa and LGBT persecution in Syria. A Media Leader at WEF and a visiting lecturer at Cambridge University, Dan is proud to be a Martha Gellhorn Prize Nominee for outstanding War Reporting.

martin palmer

  • Martin founded the Alliance of Religions and Conservation (ARC) in 1986, and was HRH Prince Philip, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Religious Advisor on the Environment. Martin is also the senior advisor to the Pope on multi-faith and economic work with the world of the faiths. He has been instrumental in creating the Laudato Si Entrepreneurship programme in association with GCCM.

judith chan

  • Judith is an Executive Director in the Media Banking Office at Coutts & Co, a leading private bank with a specialist media division. Judith has over twenty five years’ experience in media financing, starting her career at NatWest Markets in Los Angeles. Judith is currently a Trustee of Film London, The National Film and Television School Foundation, Medicinema and The Artichoke Trust.

Core Team

Resilient’s core team is a true testament of the power of a multidisciplinary and multicultural group of talents. Each team member is from a different country and field of expertise, yet are all united by the same drive and purpose. From operations to development to communications, Resilient is able to grow by embracing diversity and its unique and valuable insights.

Adrian kawaley-lathan

  • As Resilient Foundation's Executive Director, Adrian Kawaley-Lathan combines his expertise in peacebuilding, social impact storytelling and multimedia communications to transform apathy into action. With more than 10 years of experience in the impact media industry, he designs and directs programs, productions and campaigns that enhance social engagement, build capacity and empower sustainable change towards positive peace and social harmony.

laura ramirez valencia

  • Laura, a Colombian-born, global citizen, has woven a tapestry of positive change across continents. A passionate advocate for development and social justice, who believes media is a crucial tool for driving change. Through her leadership in international philanthropy and film funding, she connects passionate donors with impactful stories that educate, empower, and inspire. Offering opportunities to invest in groundbreaking research, core film productions, and initiatives that create lasting change.

emily hancock

  • Emily is a creative problem solver and project manager, with experience working in non-profits in the UK, Netherlands and Greece. Having grown up in the south of the UK, she studied History (BA) and Sociology (MSc) at the universities of Oxford and Amsterdam, where she developed her interests in social and climate justice, specialising how narratives can (de)construct colonial power structures. As Operations Coordinator, Emily works on improving and scaling business operations, whilst managing Resilient projects and stakeholder relationships.

lucia roggero bilbao

  • Lucía is a highly creative talent with a background in advertising and public relations. She was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina but her international curiosity and love for new adventures has taken her all over the world: from Rome to Madrid to Copenhagen to now, Amsterdam. She has always been passionate about storytelling and was drawn to the Resilient Foundation after witnessing the real, and necessary impact storytelling can have. As Creative Coordinator, Lucia focuses on building the Resilient brand, supporting the development activities and managing both the communications and campaigns.
